Since 1980, Taxicentral has been in the transportation industry. First, the company developed a claims management software package. Next, they developed a shared ride-routing scheduling application in order to meet the demands of Yellow Cab of Philadelphia and its expanding ParaTransit and contract business with the State of Pennsylvania Elderly and Transit Authority Handicap Services.
By 1981 the company started tracking vehicles, drivers, reservations, charge voucher billing and staff performance with its new Taxi Dispatch Software and computer applications in order control and monitor service levels.
Today, eighty taxicab/limo/courier
and ParaTransit companies around the United States are active users and enthusiastic
supporters of PC Dispatch. The system provides a fully automated trip reservation
intake system that uses comprehensive data management programs that are keyed
to the customer’s name, address, telephone number or account number.
Today Taxicentral employs four MS Windows .Net programmers, two asp.net specialist
and three web designers.
In February of 2005, PCD introduces the first of an enterprise
suite of Microsoft .Net Framework based software to upgrade all of the DOS
based software.
